How to use Wall Calibration on your Samsung The Freestyle+
Wall Calibration is a feature of AI OptiScreen on The Freestyle+ to analyze surface colors and patterns, then adjusts brightness and color temperature to improve image quality when projecting onto colored or patterned walls. Follow the steps below to run Wall Calibration and review the results.
What is Wall Calibration
Wall Calibration analyzes the projection surface and temporarily displays analysis patterns on the screen. Based on the results, it adjusts brightness and color temperature for optimized viewing.
This feature is turned off by default and runs once each time you start it manually. Run it again if the projector position or environment changes.

What to check before using Wall Calibration
Before running Wall Calibration, check the following.
Check the Adaptive Picture setting
Wall Calibration and Vision Booster cannot be used at the same time. Vision Booster is one of the options under the Adaptive Picture setting, so set Adaptive Picture to Off before running Wall Calibration. If you try to run Wall Calibration while Adaptive Picture is set to Vision Booster, a message appears and guides you to the setting menu.
Note: Vision Booster is a technology that intelligently adjusts the color and contrast of the screen according to the ambient lighting, helping you to view the display more clearly even in bright sunlight or well-lit environments.
Check the surrounding environment
Wall Calibration works best in dark environments. Bright surroundings may reduce analysis accuracy, so run it in a dark space whenever possible. A guide message may appear on the screen during analysis to recommend a darker environment for the best results.
How to run Wall Calibration
Follow the steps below to start Wall Calibration.
Step 1. Press the Home button on your remote.
Step 2. Select Menu > Settings.
Step 3. Select All Settings.
Step 4. Select General & Privacy > Projector Settings.
Step 5. Go to AI OptiScreen Settings > Wall Calibration.
Step 6. Select Run Wall Calibration to start the analysis.
What happens during Wall Calibration
When Wall Calibration starts, the projector displays analysis patterns on the surface and shows an indicator on the screen to inform you that the calibration is in progress.
When Wall Calibration is successful
When Wall Calibration is complete, an Apply or Cancel button appears. Select Apply to use the optimized result or Cancel to return to the previous setting. If the device is moved, the screen automatically returns to the pre-calibration state. The message “The action was canceled because the device was moved. Try again?” appears.
When Wall Calibration fails
Calibration may fail depending on the surrounding light or wall pattern. When this happens, a guide message appears on the screen recommending that you try again in a darker space. Adjust the environment and run Wall Calibration again.
When Wall Calibration stops
Wall Calibration may stop automatically in the following situations:
- When the Return or Exit button is pressed during analysis. The screen returns to the previous state.
- When the device position changes during analysis. The screen returns to the previous state and a notification pop-up appears to inform you that the calibration has been interrupted.
If the device is moved after calibration is complete, the result is canceled and the screen returns to the previous state. Run Wall Calibration again in the new position.

- This feature is supported on The Freestyle+ model.
- Depending on the model or region, this feature may not be supported.
- Wall Calibration is available only when Adaptive Picture is set to Off.
- Wall Calibration results may vary depending on various factors, including wall texture or pattern, lighting, and other surrounding conditions.
- Projection capabilities may vary depending on the surrounding environment, and certain features may be limited.

- Menu names and screen layouts may vary depending on the firmware version.
